Former Mayor Ed Koch has been ratcheting up his “NY Uprising” efforts at reform, and there is growing evidence it’s working at a time when Democrats in the state Senate are under fire, and Assembly Democrats are making a push to hang onto their veto-proof two-thirds majority.
A source reported that a voter in Assemblywoman Addie Russell’s district — a first-term incumbent Democrat in the North Country — got a polling call the other day asking, among other questions, “What impact would Ed Koch’s endorsement have on your vote?”
Russell is one of the Assembly members described as an “Enemy of Reform” on the NY Uprising website, and it’s a target district with robocalls and posters on the ground as she faces her first attempt at reelection.
A spokesman for the Assembly Democrats’ political arm declined comment.

“Citizens, New Yorkers must take advantage of this special time in our state’s history and demand Reform. Join us, this is our year.”
